Maxine Evans (Chief Executive and Accounting Officer)
Maxine has 20 years senior executive education and business experience. She has extensive skills in change management projects, including academy conversion and school improvement, and managing £100m+ revenues as S&M Director in RM plc. She comes to NET Academies fresh from a CEO role at an Oxfordshire academy trust (where she has been Headteacher for 9 years), and with significant experience of improving under-performing schools and developing leadership capacity.
Takako Yeung (Director of Academies)
Takako is a former secondary teacher who taught Politics, History and IB Theory of Knowledge in London, Bangkok and Singapore. She recently completed an MA in Public Policy with Distinction at King’s College, London. Takako has run training sessions and represented NET at various events as well as in the media. Her role includes overseeing all operational aspects of the Trust, project managing academy conversions, supporting the governing bodies and leading the Trust’s development.
Moira Cummins (Director of Finance)
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Moira has spent much of her career providing a range of financial management services in Education and the Voluntary Sector. She is a member of the Charity Advisors Network and a former school governor. Moira is responsible for the day to day financial management of the Trust and supports NET’s Academies Development Programme.
Simon Knight (Director of Education) from September 2016
Simon is a former teacher and school leader with extensive experience in special education, in particular the education of children with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities, a field in which he worked for eighteen years. He has also sat on a number of education advisory groups and executive boards, including the Independent Review of Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants, and The Teachers’ Professional Development Expert Group. He speaks widely on the subject of SEND and is a feature writer for the TES.
Alison Haynes (Finance Officer)
She joined NET Academies in April 2013 to assist in the finance department.
Kieran Beirne (Finance Manager)
Kieran is a qualified management accountant with over 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles across a variety of sectors including retail, logistics and manufacturing. He joined NET Academies in June 2015 as part of the central finance team and is responsible for supporting and developing the financial management of the schools within the trust, working closely with the School Business Managers.
Jamie Wade (Operations Officer)
Having obtained a degree in Psychology from Swansea University, Jamie joined a graduate training scheme in hospitality management. Since then, she has worked in human resources, community work and administration, and has worked voluntarily in an operations role with a social enterprise start-up. Jamie’s role is to support the day to day management of the Trust and to project manage academy conversions.
Debbie Penn (PA to Maxine Evans, Chief Executive)
Debbie has many years of experience working at an executive level with CEOs, Chairs and Board Directors of successful multi-national quoted companies. For over 25 years she was PA to successive CEOs of the largest education technology firm in the UK. Since setting up her own Virtual PA business in 2012, Debbie has worked with education charities, angel investors, start-ups and a variety of senior executives providing them with administrative support and executive assistance.
Diana Hawker (Academies Finance Officer)
Diana joined the NET team in September 2016. She is a part qualified Chartered Accountant with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting. Diana has significant experience of working on academy audits in practice, as well as the preparation of financial and management accounts, tax and provision of software training services.
Camilla Sandford (Operations Intern)
Camilla joined the NET Academies team in November 2016, after obtaining a masters from the University of Oxford in September of the same year. Prior to this she completed a degree in Politics at the University of Essex, with a year abroad in the United States. Camilla has experience of working in market research and administration, and her main role with NET is to support the day to day management of the Trust.
