Welcome back to the final term in Year 3!
This term our topic is geography focused. We will be conducting surveys in and around our local area. We will also be learning about the general election, creating our own political parties and having our own election.
In Literacy this term we will start by reading and writing folk tales. We will focus on creating tension and suspense by varying our sentence structure. Later in the term we are going to be looking at autobiographies and biographies. We are going to look at how they are structured their main features.
In maths we will start by looking at money. We will be learning about money and notation and then solving problems involving money. Later on in the term we will be learning to tell the time to the nearest minute. It would be very helpful if children could practise looking at both digital and analogue clocks leading up to this topic.
As you know already, reading is hugely important in school. We would like the children to be reading at least 3 times per week at home as it has an enormous impact on the work we do in class. Children who read 3 times per week will be rewarded for their efforts. Remember – children who read will succeed!
Many thanks for your continued support
