Reporting Attainment

Reporting Attainment

As you may know, the Government changed the way schools assess children. The levels we used to use to record, track and report children’s attainment have gone and schools were given the autonomy to choose their own methods of assessing and tracking the children’s attainment and progress.

At Battle Primary Academy we now use a programme called School Pupil Tracker Online to track and record children’s attainment and progress. Teacher’s use a mixture of formative assessments and evidence of the children’s work to make their professional judgements about your child’s attainment.

As a result of this we have reviewed how we report your child’s progress to you, so you can best support your child and fully understand the new assessment procedures we use.

In the Autumn and Spring terms we will hold formal parent consultations which provide you with the opportunity to discuss your child’s attainment, progress and targets for the next steps in their learning. These consultations will also provide an opportunity for you to look at your child’s work.

A formal written report about your child’s progress and their end of year attainment will be sent home in the summer term, parent consultations will be available if you wish to discuss your child’s report.

Children in Reception, Year 2 and 6 will receive their End of EYFS/ Key Stage results in this report and children in Year 1 and 2 who sit the Phonics Check will also receive their score in this report.

In the meantime the teachers are available to discuss your child’s progress by appointment throughout the year, if you wish to book an appointment with your child’s teacher please contact the school office or speak to the teacher at the end of the school day.
